And I do have a wonderful life, rich with dear friends and family, and lots of interests. I am quite sure that boredom will not be a problem for me once I retire. It...Hi Jude - I know that it can be hard to retire. It sounds like you have many choices regarding both the date, and the way in which, you retire. That is fantastic - so many people don't have that.<br />Regarding your knowledge disappearing -- I would argue that it won't disappear at all. It will live on in your workplace, and with the employees that you mentored. You will also take it with you in your retirement - where you can share it in new ways -- serving on a board, volunteering for an organization that desperately needs your skills or sharing it on this blog. The sky really is the limit in retirement. My advice is not to overthink it.
